Ms. Eva's Retirement
A year of many changes to our regular lives, 2020 is a year that Les Petits Ballets is going to go through a major change - the retirement of Eva Zielinski, from the position of Director of Dance.
After an established career as a dancer and teacher in her home country, Poland, Eva emigrated to Canada in 1982. In 1986, she joined Les Petits Ballets and has been in the position of Director of Dance for more than 30 years.
Under Eva's direction, the school has flourished, benefitting from her wealth of knowledge and her kind teaching style. Whether teaching daily classes in the NCAC's spacious studios, or overseeing the production of Les Petits Ballets' newest full length story ballet, Eva has always given her all to the school to ensure that it and it's students succeed.
Eva feels that her greatest accomplishment has been giving students a chance to taste the real world of ballet. Knowing how much ballet has impacted and shaped these young people's lives is very important to her. She says that she will always cherish the memories of seeing the joy of dance on her students' faces, whether performing simple steps in the classroom or a challenging variation on stage.
Though we will be seeing a little less of Eva at the school, she will continue on teaching in the Adult ballet program, sharing her passion of dance with her dedicated group of adult dancers. With her extra, well deserved free time, Eva plans to spend more time with her granddaughters. Les Petits Ballets will miss her greatly and will always value the contributions that she made to the school throughout her lifetime. She is the reason that the school is where it is today.
Thank you Eva!
